Alex Parkyn-Smith

Alex is an ethnographic researcher and filmmaker with an M.A. (Distinction) in Visual Anthropology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a B.A. in Anthropology (Biological & Social) from the University of Durham. He has carried out academic research in Indonesia, Kenya and the Channel Islands, and specialises in the perception of science, environment and climate change, as well as transport industries and employment opportunity. Previous work includes corporate team-building and music events promotions. He is currently based in London.

As an ethnographer, Kira has specialised in migration, border area issues, sensory and embodied anthropology. Imogen is an ethnographic researcher and documentary filmmaker, with a background specialising in politics and languages. She has an M.A. (Merit) in Visual Anthropology, a B.A. (First class) in European Studies and Russian language, and is a graduate of the Moscow School of Political Studies (МШПИ), combining these various fields of expertise to inform her ethnographic research. Imogen has previously worked as a freelance French and Russian researcher, subtitler and translator. She is currently based in London.

Scott has experience in multiple disciplines within Environmental Science. His current position is at the Biological Chemistry and Crop Protection department of Rothamsted Research. Alongside completing a degree in Applied Geography B.Sc. (1st), Scott has published scientific work using his skills in statistical analysis and GIS software (ArcGIS, Qgis, MapInfo and ERDAS).

María José Pavlovic

Maria José is an independent filmmaker from Chile. Before studying Visual Anthropology at the Granada Centre (University of Manchester), she worked as a researcher and field producer for several documentary series, which dealt with issues like ageing and social change in Chile. In 2011 she won the Becas Chile scholarship for education. She is currently living in Paris working with the congolese community.

Tanja is a filmmaker and anthropologist with an M.A. in Visual Anthropology from the University of Manchester. She has specialised in gender, conflict and political movements. For more than four years Tanja has lived and worked extensively in Latin America and Spain. She is currently working on an ethnographic documentary about the persecution of female leaders in the Colombian conflict.
