We’re proud to announce that Alex Parkyn-Smith’s short film Only Three Cents is an official selection and will be screened at the Copenhagen Short Film Festival as part of the “New Danish Short I” series at Husets Biograf on Friday the 22th February at 7pm. Tickets, that give you access to all 6 films, are 50 kr. and can be bought at the door. Remember cash! Tickets can also be reserved through CSFF’s website. Fore more information on festival passes and other screenings please check out Copenhagen Short Film Festival’s and also have a look at the facebook event. CSFF CSFF 2013 is the first edition of a new Danish short film festival initiative, building upon successful short film festivals in England and Germany: “We intend to give Copenhagen something of the same, to offer a buffet of guest presenters, surprises, strangeness, excellence and anarchy, to spotlight rising Danish filmmakers and to survey the crop of extraordinary short films made outside Denmark.” The “New Danish Short I” have been chosen either because of their exceptional visual or narrative qualities and/or their effective use of the short film media. The two blocks are a mixture of animation, documentary and fiction. They function as a counterpart to the German programs (which include international as well as German films), surveying the state of Danish short film making at the moment and taking the pulse of the local underground film scene. In the first block, New Danish Shorts I, we travel deep underwater, experience the physical love between a man and a woman, get a look at the job scene in Nairobi, go on a psychedelic journey, meet a girl and her father with Asperger’s syndrome, and are introduced to a young poet who is reunited with his girlfriend, after spending time at a psychiatric hospital.
